Another palm I have that there doesnt seem to be much info on. Remember seeing somewhere that it grows in high ph soil in habitat, and that it may be the most cold tolerant clinostigma. I got a small seedling from a grower who said that it was also quite unique from the other clinostigmas. Would appreciate any info I could get on this one.

JC don't know too much about them but I do know that they do look quite distinct from other Clinostigmas...I know that a few of them are growing in Hawaii, and you're right they are the most adept to alkaline soils. I would speculate and say that they don't grow as tall as most clinostigmas. Maybe someone can correct me here. Bo is probably growing a couple.

Bo, I have only one and its 2" tall and was hard to get. It makes me nervous when I dont have a few to experiment with. thanks for answering my posts, and by the way I think I saw in one of your posts that you were from Malmo, I have some pretty funny stories about Malmo and Lund. Probably some of my most memorable times while I was backpacking in Europe fresh out of college.

JC,

I'm afraid to ask "how funny"... If you want to, you could either just PM me, or if appropriate add a thread to Ohana Nui ("funny travel stories" for instance).

PS - yes, I was born in Malmö and lived there for many years.

I dont even know how to PM, heck I dont even know what PM means. Ive been lurking here for a couple of years just started posting. I would like to get one of those fancy IPS Logos Ive been a member the last two years, what do I have to do. JC

JC,

In order to get one of those fancy IPS logos below your avatar you need to bribe the moderator :mrlooney: Actually, come to think of it, a simple e-mail may be sufficient! PM=Personal message, and you can send that thru PalmTalk. (Click on "My Controls" close to the top, and then on the left select "Compose New Message"). Remember to send him your full name and address.

And I'm looking forward to your visit here next summer, and you are of course welcome to the "extended garden tour"! (That's the one where we're finished by daybreak! ).

How's that clino doing now, street124? Max height is said to just be 30' so it's the smallest clinostigma for sure.
