Some of you may remember the thread this was in, but I'm ready to give it up. I almost took it apart, but its more useful as is.. You can now get your giant palm purchase home and not worry about snapping its "neck". It worked great getting it home. The palm dried and died later, but that was a different story. Will not be shipped. For Pick-up only. FREE

I would like to do a little promotion. So I am giving my xbutyagrus F1 seed away. This offer is only good to certified nurseries or growers. This offer is also good for overseas nurseries as well. Why am I doing this? 1. I would like to send these to certified growers and nurseries who are experienced so I can average out there germination rates for this hybrid. 2. I would like to show you that you will get all Butyagrus from this seed. No Butias No guessing game. 3. And of course I would like your future business. The catch. You have to be interested in selling this hybrid or other butia hybrids at your nursery. You have to report your germination rate…

Hi Everyone. I went to Dick Douglass house on Saturday and he was gracious enough to give me a whole BUNCH of Sabal Riverside seeds from his tree in his front yard. I'm sure he can elaborate more on the history of his tree, if need be. At any rate, I only need about 50 seeds (and even then, that's too many) and I've got about 300 or so extra. I'm willing to send these out to whomever wants to grow them. Just PM me with your info and I can send you a batch of about 15 or so. If you want more (within reason) just let me know. I want to make it fair for everyone. I will send the stuff out on Saturday so y'all can get it soon enough. I'll just send seeds until I run ou…

Free Sabal seeds
by AggiePalms- 22 replies
- 5.8k views
I've got some strange Sabal minor seeds to give away...I had a thread on here earlier this year about the mother plant; the leaves lay almost horizontal, the plant has only a few leaves at any time, but it grows new leaves like crazy, and hasn't increased in size much since I planted it in 1995 or so. No trunk or above ground development; all leaves are directly from the ground. I can supply photos, too. Very healthy, just an odd growth habit. Act now and I will throw in some Sabal palmetto seeds too. Two Sabal species for the price of one! ($0.00) Just give me your mailing address; these are very cold hardy seeds. I can probably supply 3-6 interested sprouters…

Want Bamboo - Will Trade Palms
by osideterry- 19 replies
- 5.5k views
December's rain and wind caused my large Acacia to lean against a fence common with my neighbor's yard. It was threatening to bring the fence down, so today I cut it, and now I have this gaping hole with a view of my neighbor's house. I've been wanting to remove and put in bamboo anyway, and this has accelerated that situation. So... I'm looking for good sized bamboo, eventually 3-5" culms, clumping, erect appearance (not weepy like B. tuldoides "ventricosa"), and decent size - large 5 gallon and up. Like I said, oldamii would be fine. I only need 3-4 good sized pots. My finances are such, that I can't just go out and buy the bamboo, so I'm looking to trade palms. I…

1968 Honda Super 90 Cafe Racer.

I know it sounds crazy, but I already have two bikes, and I need more palms. The bike is street legal, goes 60+mph (100kph) and is a 4 speed. It gets 85mpg. It is 40 years old, only has 2100 miles, and I have new tires, new light wiring, new carburetor, and have cleaned everything out. One in this shape goes for around $2000 to collectors. It is a lot of fun to drive! If anyone out there wants a bike, and has some decent palms, I am up for horsetrading. Feel free to email me at cfkingfish@gmail.com. Here are a few pictures.

This palm is 19 years old, has grown very strongly, and is incredibly fertile. The trunk is 42 inches tall below the crownshaft and is 9 inches in diameter. I propagated a recent seed crop and have 40 or 50 extras. I will divide and mail the extras to the first 3 people who PM their California address to me! Good growing to all!

more free seeds
by Lucinda- 23 replies

My son and his two young teenagers enthusiastically collected a gazillion of these seeds while in Hawaii a couple of weeks ago. I can't begin to use them and hate for their efforts to be wasted. No cost to those of you who want a few. Caveat: You'll have to clean them yourself (not a difficult job). Forteen seeds weigh one oz and will fit in a first class envelope. I'll ship 'em out as long as my stamps hold out. No problem if you want more, say 50 or 100, but I'll ask you to pay postage. Pritchardia pac. have pleated leaves and are beautiful trees. Zone 10a/b or higher. Please pm me if you're interested. Lucinda

Hi all I am still in Hanoi for the next few days but thought I would gauge interest. I have a small number of the following that I am willing to trade for seeds of understorey small palms of a similar Ilk. I am not interested in RPS seed that has not sprouted yet as I want as fresh as these are. Lanonia magalonii, calciphila and centralis Pinanga declinata and annamensis(would have to be good for this) Licuala glaberrima Caryota monostachya Happy to swap for seedlings if Aussie shipping Thanks for looking bu…

I have a bunch of already-germinated Carpentaria acuminata seeds that I'll gladly send to those who want to try them. And I'll even pay the postage (US). There's probably 100 or so to divide among the first five requesters. Carpies grow fast and should be good for developing canopy fairly quickly. These are perishable... so PM me by Saturday. After that, they go in the compost pile. Lucinda M.
