I live in the Tampa Bay area and looking for Washingtonia Robusta palms for my back yard. Can’t seem to find a nursery/farm/seller that has them. Anyone in central Florida know of a place that sells and delivers them? Don’t need anything big — maybe 6-8 feet tall. Unfortunately the frost this winter took all my foxtails and Christmas palms, so want to replace them with something that’s more cold hardy. Other suggestions welcome, too. Thanks in advance!

ISO Tropical Conifers I would like to expand my collection of potted tropical conifer trees and I wonder if anybody here might have any selections such as Agathis, less common Araucaria, Callitris, Podocarpus or Retrophyllum available as seedlings, cuttings or young trees available for sale or trade(?). I have a few trees here already that I can snip for cuttings in trade as well as some other neat plants including species Begonia, palms, ferns and more. Thanks for looking!

c Hooperiana, must be a male
by SHEP- 6 replies

I really, really want a male for my large female C Hooperiana. Darold has given me five separate plants through the years. I grow them up, and "It's a girl!" for every one, and I bought seeds, but nothing germinated, and I admit it got discouraged and tossed out after six months. I have spent quite a few years, trying to make this happen, and I know they need to get bigger to get to this point. I so envied, Jim in Los Altos specimen in his front yard, and so I will still continue this quest. Let me know. Thanks, going to SoCal in a few months and then late season Summer in October, so that would be the easy button. Hope someone responds. Thanks, Cecile Oh, BTW I …

Ok, I hear you all laughing I thought they were totally gone (as in zero chance of getting one), but recently learned there are still some large-ish ones for sale in Florida, which made me think... maybe? Does anyone in CA (or drivable from CA) have one of these monsters tucked away in your backyard waiting for a buyer? Or (even less likely) someone in another state with one at a shippable size? I'm assuming the only ones left - if there are any - would be big, but I would be willing to pay a pretty high price for one. Anyone know of a lead? * I have ONE spot in my yard that's reserved for a monster palm (currently occupied by lawn, but the grass is being …

Looking to replace my gorgeous big blue B Armata that died in last yrs freeze, it was actually given to me by someone from this very forum for (in retrospect) an amazing price I might add. If anyone has 5 -7 gallon plants they can ship I would like to take 1 or 2 of the bluest ones! Always great to have extras to plant in other spots! Very difficult if not impossible to find these in TX
