Seeking: Dictyocaryum, Iriartella, Wettinia seeds
by KrisKupsch- 0 replies
Hello, I’m mostly seeking seeds of Wettinia species especially W.praemorsa, as here in Australia there appears only 1 Wettinia plant in existence. Maybe there are more but the entire lot of New World stilt root palms except Socratea and Iriartea are poorly represented in our collections. If anyone can assist please contact me. Here is a list of palm species in seed form, allowed into Australia. Thanks Kris https://www.agriculture.gov.au/sites/default/files/sitecollectiondocuments/biosecurity/new-legislation/lists/arecaceae-palm-seed-list.pdf

Hey Everyone. Why are these three specimens so hard to find around Orange and Lake County Florida. I am hunting for a few larger 8-12' double or triple Archontophoenix Alexandrae, Archonphoenix Cunninghamiana and so far in all my hunting the only thing I have found so far was one single Archontophoenix Alexandrae and that was at Traveling Trees Garden Center in Clermont and it was only about 4' tall. I would also love to find a 4-6' Archontophoenix purpurea. I reached out to MB Palms today via email, but reading here that he really doesn't like to work with the public, and I just missed his open house this weekend as I was out of town until late…

Hi everyone, I've been on the hunt for plant/seeds of a king palm/bungalow/archontophoenix which had been rumored to withstand frost and freezing temperatures with no reported damage at 23 degrees (Inge Hoffman was stated to have collected seed from the Australian wilds which tested bullet-proof in her garden during the 90/91 freeze in the SF Bay Area). I'm searching for any seed of this palm variety if it exists. I'll be in Australia in March and will do some exploring but I thought I'd throw the idea to the members of this site - any thoughts? Jeff

Does anyone in the united states have access to seed for Araucaria angustifolia? I'm looking for pure seed or Araucaria araucana X angustifolia. I'm not looking to spend a lot of money because these would be experimental in my region. I'm also interested in Araucaria araucana seeds.

I'm a horticulturist at Audubon Aquarium and I'm looking for some decent-sized Chamaedorea microspadix as well as C. radicalis in the New Orleans area for a planting project at the aquarium. I'm fine with driving out of the area to nearby locations such as Lafayette, Baton Rouge, Mobile, even Pensacola. Thanks!
