Hi everyone, I've been on the hunt for plant/seeds of a king palm/bungalow/archontophoenix which had been rumored to withstand frost and freezing temperatures with no reported damage at 23 degrees (Inge Hoffman was stated to have collected seed from the Australian wilds which tested bullet-proof in her garden during the 90/91 freeze in the SF Bay Area). I'm searching for any seed of this palm variety if it exists. I'll be in Australia in March and will do some exploring but I thought I'd throw the idea to the members of this site - any thoughts? Jeff

Visited Fairchild last week...amazing as usual. This particular trip I really focused on non-palms and took note of these four that I want to try in my garden. I'm interested in buying seeds or live plants. A lead to someone else who may have one of the above is helpful, too. Thanks!

Learned about this palm species recently and now I can't stop thinking about it. I'm in Canada which makes for an extra challenge in finding them. Rarepalmseeds.com lists them as out of stock, and I can't seem to find anyone else who sells seeds for these. Assuming availability surges seasonally, when is a good time of year to look for them? Is there anywhere else to look? Are there any places in Brazil that export them? There must be some commercial availability somewhere if vendors can sell the plants? Of course if there is anyone here that has any that they'd be willing to sell to me, I would love to hear from you! Please and thank you 🙂

Hi Everyone, I am planning a driving trip to South Florida in December, and I need to know what good coconut palm nurseries there are in the Miami and Homestead area. I am looking for the Green, Golden, and Yellow Malayans as well as Maypans, but they must be in small sizes in the 1-3ft. range. I am hoping to find some good healthy palms at a low price, since I would like to fill a 5x10ft. cargo trailer with them. You can reach me at my email at: mr.coconutpalm@yahoo.com or on my cell phone at (956) 204-9499. Thanks, John
