BPACS June Outing
by Daryl- 2 replies

The BPACS June outing is to Springbrook and the walking track at Purlingbrook Falls (Circuit). The track is 4 kilometres long and takes about 2 hours to complete. The walk does require a moderate level of fitness as there are several hundred steps along the way. This area has some pristine rainforest, with several species of endemic palms and cycads. The forest could be cool in places, depending on the weather (and it is winter!), so bring along some warm clothing. The scenery is spectacular and passes underneath Purlingbrook Falls which drop more than 100 metres. After the walk we will stop for lunch at one of the local cafes'. For those intending to do the walk, please …

by DoomsDave- 8 replies

Hello, everyone: We're back in a garden we haven't been to for a long time, which I've never seen. The May 2013 PSSC meeting will take place on May 18, 2013 in the Bill Burke and NancyBell Coe garden in Santa Barbara. The site was formerly the home and garden of the Gunther Schwartz family. Since our visit seven years ago, the garden suffered fire damage and neglect before careful restoration by the present owners Bill and NancyBell. Gunther Schwartz (in spirit!) would be delighted by our return to his now carefully restored garden. The garden is known for the most varied collection in Santa Barbara and outstanding succulent planting. Gunther devoted 25 years…
