Get ready for next weekend... November 5 - 6, 2011. The South Florida Palm Society will host the Fall 2011 Palm Show and Sale featuring "The World's Largest Sale of rare and exotic palms." Hundreds of palms and cycads will be offered for sale. This sale will be held at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, 10901 Old Cutler Road, Coral Gables. Sale Hours are 9:30 am to 4:30 pm, Saturday and Sunday. FREE Palm seedlings to every guest while supplies last. Extensive selection of free palm seeds for attendees to choose from. Information about growing palms available. Palm art will also be on display.

The Mounts Botanical Garden Fall Plant Sale is this weekend - Saturday and Sunday, November 5 - 6. The hours are from 9-5 on Saturday and 9-4 on Sunday. Location - Mounts Botanical Garden 531 North Military Trail West Palm Beach, FL 33415 Betty and I will be there selling all sorts of palms and cycads. Two other local palm growers will be there. This would be a good time to get together with your fellow palmophiles and catch up on all of the news. We would like to invite all societies and since PACSOF doesn't seem to be planning anything soon, it would be a good time for us all to get together. I hope that everyone is making plans to join us at Ruth Sallenbach's fabulous garden in 2 weeks. The date will be September 17. Here are a few updates. The gate will be open at 8:30. The next meeting of the Costa Rica Palm Society will be held at Wilson Botanical Garden (Las Cruces) on Saturday April 9, 2011. Wilson Botanical Garden was known at one time as having the second largest palm collection in the world. This is a great opportunity for our members to see many species of mature palms from all around the world. Cabinas are available for rent at the garden and the rate includes accommodations, 3 meals per day, 1/2 day guided tour, and all taxes. Howdyall: If you're anywhere in the vicinity, of San Diego California on March 26, 2011 come to the Palm Society of Southern California meeting, located at the following address: 11123 Valley Lights Drive El Cajon, CA 92020 This will be a marvelous garden, in the ground by a dedicated palmateer for more than 20 years.
