El Hoagie had the journal ready the beginning of November - unfortunately, there are a lot of links in the chain with delays to boot... Some folks have already expressed concern with the accompanying renewal notice in effect stating This is the last journal you'll receive unless you renew; for the record, everyone who is already paid up through 2010 and beyond will continue receiving journals and newsletters (clearly). Hang on to the SASE, send me Easter greetings, or whatever. Spread the word. Over&out. P-zon

The Louisiana Palm and Cycad Society had an educational and sales booth at the New Orleans Botanical Garden's fall show last weekend. The society won two awards, one for design and one for education but I don't know where they placed in these categories. The usual group of Ken (past president), Reed and Jayanne (VP) set-up the booth Friday afternoon. I think Ken has helped set-up for every show (spring and fall) for at least the last ten years! Here are Ken and Jayanne Saturday morning. Craig and I came by after the game to help break down the booth. Rod (president) and Suzanne (treasurer) also helped.
