Those are from Feb 07... I have sold about 20 that were larger! Most of those had begun to put out a leaf that was more charactoristic than the above, meaning something between a strap leaf and palmate! These things are so darn slow! Patience will be rewarded...

Jeff, It would be kinda neighborly of ya' to come out and buy a plant or two... :P

Some of you have asked for a list of vendors and plants. I just got it today and hopefully this link will work. It should contain the sale booklet.

I had to remove a lot of stuff in order to get the size down. Hopefully it will work.

Kitty,

The link works.

Bill,

I am glad that you decided to be a vendor this year. I think you have too much good stuff to keep it all for yourself.

Bill,

Ryan and I try to get up there at least once a year, but the South Florida Chapter scheduled their garden tours for saturday. And we all plan on going to this. Sunday, I already had plans for. I'm sure your going to be nervous and you probably won't sleep much on friday night, being it's your first sale as a vendor. :) You'll be fine, just be well prepared.

Everyone should stop and see Bill and his palms! I have 2 Chambeyronia macrocarpa (flame-throwers) from Bill. I have had them since April of this year. I am no expert in the palm department and they are beautiful.

This photo is when I first got them.

I also want to show you my beautiful Teddy Bear palm. I love this palm, it is just so fuzzy! Also, from Bill... and both the flame-throwers and the teddy-bear palms are from the same group of seedlings Bill has brought to market! :)

April,

Will there be photo opportunities with you at the sale? You should pose in Bill's booth. That will increase the traffic.

:hmm: Hummmmmmmmmmmmm, photo opportunities with me, at Bill's Booth??? All I can say is "Bill's Booth" is Top Notch! I'm not going to say when and if, I will be at the Sale. But, I do encourage everyone to go to the Sale... if you didn't make it today, come tomorrow! The weather was beautiful and tomorrow should be just as pleasant. Remember the Sale ends early tomorrow @ 3pm, so come early! And make sure you take home a Pious Palms, palm tree... The Pious Palms trees that are back at the shade house are enjoying their spacious surroundings and don't want their sibling seedlings to return. and frankly, I don't want to have to put them back in the shade house, so if everyone buys at least one Palm Tree, I won't have any :winkie: , many to take back... and that would make me, oh...... so happy! :) So, make sure you get out to the Sale, tomorrow for this rare viewing opportunity at Bill's "Palm" Booth, not "Photo" Booth, but one never knows what tomorrow may bring, so come early, stay late... buy a Pious Palms Tree! Whose got the coffee?

Bo, I may have to speak up on the whole playing with palm's isn't "work" thing... Then again, maybe if I had any sense I'd just go put them in the ground and not carry them all over this megacropolis.

yawn.

I'm going back to sleep.

No...I will never beat you up. he-he :) My venture today was great. A good crowd showed up today for the The South Florida Palm Society Garden Tour. We went to six different gardens and saw lots of nice stuff. Each one was a little different from the next. The last one had the flowering Corypha palm, something you don't see very often.

As much as I would like to drop by and see many great people up there, I will be enjoying the morning paper and then play some paintball later in the morning. I know, I know, but it's NOT just for kids, you know. And then work in the yard, and then our usual volleyball across the street late afternoon. But......I would love to see pictures of everyone! And palms of course. Soooooo I'm expecting some later in the evening or monday, OK?

Bill.......I hope you did great !!!! I want to hear all about it. :)

Attendance was down this year but it was a good sale. We met some new friends, got reacquainted with some old friends, and had a good time. We had 2 new vendors this year and they both had nice palms. Everyone's palms looked good this year. We've had a great growing season.

There were some deals to be had. Doug and Patrick had some killer Syagrus coronatas (true ones) for a really cheap Price. They also had a BIG Sabal yapa that went on Saturday monring early. Bill had some great Chambeyronias that should have sold like hotcakes. And he had a generator with a fan and a TV! We aren't used to such high-tech stuff up here in Palm Beach County! The weather was great, though a little hot on Friday and Saturday.

I'm sure Bill and Doug and Patrick are still recovering from all the hard work! My husband was with me on Friday for setup and Sunday for breakdown. He said he now knew why I was so tired on those days! I know Bill was taking pictures so maybe he will get them posted today.
