With all the origin threads going on I figured what a great way to start the new thread.

This new thread will start off with how/where I got my kickstart into the nursery business and my love of plants. I am not going to dump a 100 pics at a time, we will work on this little by little, we have all year to get it done, and the way 2008 is starting off looks like I am going to have some really great projects going on.

Thanks Keith, this is my parents place, the original house burnt up in 98. this one is built on the exact same spot, the site has been in production for about 37 years, weathering freezes, storms and fires!

the big sabal and more pato de chivo, the pato de chivo makes a small white flower tha makes the humming birds go freakin nuts!

My Dad, Jack Dyer, the biggest influence in my life.

we fight like cats and dogs over the most trivial things but in 10 minutes it's over forgiven and forgotten.

I love my dad!!

Dad next to his jungle, the licualas are the the first batch I ever got to germinate after going through God only knows how many batches of seed.

I think this is pink diamond, John Demott gave me this one 2 years ago on my first visit to his place.

another, growing up in this back yard, I didnt realize how much I was learning as I went along, and I was NOT always a willing student, I used to dread hearing the words "yardwork" or "weed the shadehouse"

I am now so very thankful that I did get to do all that stuff!

thanks jeff, I used to not like them but they have grown considerably on me as time goes by.

I have shown pics of this everglades palm clump before , but I never get tired of looking at it!

truly one of the palms that I was first attracted to.
