  1. When I read the subject line, "Amazonia gone" from Toby I actually started to get into a panic thinking someone had got rid of the Amazon. Phewwwww. Anythings possible nowadays. Best regards Tyrone

  3. These CIDPs growing at the Sarasota/Bradenton were butchered about a year-and-a-half ago. They recovered some but the one closest to the camera doesn't look too healthy. I've only lived here for a little over two years, but it I feel from looking at these palms that that's happened before. Airport palmettos. Trimmed I think in the early fall (maybe not). Still didn't grow back that much. They get that cut a couple of times a year.

  4. I wanted to add some ugly pictures from Sarasota to this thread. Overpruned queens: Young sabal with just one leaf left:

  5. Raining again! Bill, I am making small progress, ignoring the mountain of rubble and tidying what is ours. Some irony, that the night before I was telling my mother that what I needed for my outdoor shade house this summer was, "a whole load of those cinder blocks". I've cleaned up about 40 blocks so far. It's not like they are expensive, but these just happened to land right where I needed them! Kris - sorry, no Audrey Hepburn visuals here! You are absolutely right, and the mess in our garden is also a reminder of how some people only live for the moment. Thankfully, that's not a philosophy that most palm growers could adopt as a mantra.
