I collected pollen from the Syagrus glaucescens (stored in the fridge) and I have just now a ripe inflorescence on my Butia catarinensis ,a very compact plant,silver ,wider leaflets then my other catarinensis and also stiffer. Syagrus glaucescens are aso silvery and with VERY stiff upright leaflets. How thie hybrid between this two palms will look? Future will say! I have a lot of pollen and I will also cross my native queen palms. This also will produce a very unusual ,compact ,cold hardy XSyagrus......

  2. Wow Alberto, will be a stunner I think, but i guess it will be slow, glaucescens is a slug of a plant, the queen hybrid could be very interesting !

Hey Ken - You would be surprised at what I have removed from the gastrointestinal tract of dogs - no palm seeds, but all of the other above including avocado pits - socks, nylon stockings, rubber balls of all sizes, plastic bottle caps - if it goes in the mouth it can end up in the stomach - gmp
