I got this from a collector at the Monster Market , they had it labelled as Dypsis robusta . Mikey told me the name , but its one of the mile long Malagasy ones and I've forgotten it already . Its planted on a slope just beside the driveway , right where I can see it loking outv the front window ,, ahh I look at it 20 times a day  :P .. just put out a new leaf . Leaflets are held very much like a young Foxtail. I hope I live to see it as big as the one featured on PACSOA ..

I think I have that one... a bit smaller than yours, though. That monster market sounds better and better...

Lost a few palms that way... not necessarily cold wind, Michael... just wind in general for me!! Cleared block is a bit less forgiving when it comes to wind. Some palms that I planted under 30% shade cloth - just to take the edge of the sun and the wind, are doing very well.. But we just can't put them up everywhere. I just protect the ones that I know will suffer. Usually dypsis are very tough though... Sometimes I put it down to... if it is meant to be, it will survive!!

Michael, You don't have cold winds. You can grow Cyrtostachys remember. No Dypsis I know of is that cold sensitive. If you get cold winds, we are all in serious trouble this winter.

Best regards
