Instead of creating a new thread each weekend, i thought I'd create one and just update each week.

Behind my pool, the ground drops off to a drainage channel, next to my fence. I reinforced the ground with legacy blocks to stop erosion, and to create better planting beds. Yesterday I braved the heat and filled 2 slots I have their.

This King Alexander replaces the one I lost in last year's freeze. Those are coffee grounds at the base... it has a minor scale problem I'm treating with neem oil, and decided throw in coffee also.

9 ft to right of the Alex', I had a nice spot for a palm that doesn't get a thick trunk. I've been wanting to put a Euterpe here for a long time, and was able to get a nice one from Joe Palma a few weeks ago. It will get sun from 1pm, so I have an umbrella over it that I'll gradually pull away.

It was 97F in the shade when I wrapped up planting at noon.

I might get another in the ground today...

Yeah, I need to weed that drainage area. I have more bamboo I'm going to plant along the fence, and will deal with it then.

Terry, you are a brave man. I waited until 5 PM to do my plantings. it was just TOO hot. I did water the heck out of my plants though.
