Trachycarpus nanus

I was in Austin over the weekend enjoying the spring wild flowers, great weather, and wonderful food on South Congress. Stopped by Zilker garden for the great cactus show and visited the prehistoric garden in the park where they have a fantastic palm and cycad collection for zone 8. They had a Trachycarpus nanus in bloom. Here are some pictures of this trunkless palm that blooms very early. Here are the blossoms. What is your experience with this palm? Have you ever seen the palm blue version? Thanks
