Tornado damage... we don't see that much over here..

Yesterday evening i was in Rotterdam with my dad too watching the soccermatch from the team that i support. When i was home later that evening it was raining a lot and heavy sometimes. When i was home, started the computer and looking on the dutch weather board with weather amateurs. I saw messages about little tornado and "windhoos". When i take a better look i have seen some pictures.. This morning there was a heavy discussion about this... because the tv and radio called minitornado.. but if the look too the damage it was for sure F1. For the most of the people on this board it's an F1 "nothing" but fur here it's really unsual! We know the term "supercell" and seen that sometimes..

The little tornado or F1 tornado has passed some villages, but not the centrum of it.. so there are no deads or injureds only damage. When i was hearing the part Groningen i was thinking about Alberto from this board.. he is on holiday in Holland, but he was somewhere else when i saw the name of the city where he is on holiday.

This card here under show us the way... the rain clouds came from the sea on land and gives a rain.. but the clouds passed the water (Red cirkel) what's it's warm so it has gives the clouds some energie en made it to a "supercell". The black line is the place where the damage is from the little tornado or F1 tornado. I have seen it on tv, people are talking about "This is holland, not America! Everything was black, lot of noice.. i don't want too see it anymore in my whole life" or a reaction "Normally you see this only in movies!"

This morning i woke up... start the computer and was going too the dutch weather board again.. new messege about tornado hits city's in the North of France. More reading and i was seeing more damage then holland, even 3 deads are reported and 10 people injured heavy. The have say so far it has must be an F3 tornado. Heavy tornado's like that, and with that damage we seen only on movies and seeing it in the news when there is a Tornadp outbreak in America. but here in europe we don't see that so much!

Here under the card again... from the the little tornado in holland. The little yellow square in the soutwest is where i live. There under is belgium, and not far from that in the north of France the yellow line... that is where the tornada has seen and destroy completed houses. when the tornado was gone... it was still a "supercell"you can see it at the yellow spots true belgium and little piece of holland. That parts have got a lot of rain....

I have never seen this before in my life, and if i take a look too this pictures i want never seen this in real life i think... it must be scary and the damage what you can have is bad.

It's strange too see/hear, last wednesday the Netherlands weather instituut came with a great story what the do every 5 years for the publics how the climate is... this time it was about the last 5 years that all the years have been too warm... that the winters has been a lot warmer.. and snow is more and more not for sure in the winters... that the summers can be hotter but also because that hot day's get more powerfull rain storms so it will be wetter too. Northwest europe was the place that is warming up 2-3 times more faster then the rest of the world..

That we have got really wet periods, but also dry periods just like april 2007 there was almost 50 day's no rain. A hot july 2006 every day almost above the 30C/86F and one day on great scale 37C/almost 100F i think.. but also this things that rainclouds can be faster powerfull supercells... and now this...

Nature is really strange here... the last few years.. almost every month too warm.. we can almost see the climate changing...

Robbin, how terrifying. Tornadoes are scary because they strike so quickly and randomly. I've had 2 F1 tornadoes hit within a mile of my house in the last year. Incredibly destructive. Hope you all see no more of them for a long time.

The wind damage in France is ghastly--the cars being blown around are what you see in only the worst hurricanes. Experts in the US will be able to make accurate assessments of wind velocity based on that sort of damage.

Roof construction practices are very different between the US and much of Europe, so it's hard to make comparisons.
