Hiya folks - I lifted this directly from the PSSC website:

The September meeting will have two gardens on tour in Camarillo, Ventura County. Both are beautiful examples of how to landscape for a lush, topical ambiance. The first consists of large, well established plants; while the second shows what a fabulous garden one can create in a short time. Neither garden has been on tour before.

Schedule:

11:00 AM - The garden of Robert and Mary Moebius, 905 Calle Acopada, Camarillo, CA 93010 (at Camino Concordia). Mr. and Mrs. Moebius began planting the palms in this garden in 1974. Many were purchased at Palm Society auctions, or grown from seeds obtained from the IPS (International Palm Society) Seed Bank. The predominant species is Chamaedorea.

12:00 Noon - The garden of Alex and Margreet Wijnen, 545 Calle del Norte, Camarillo, CA 93010. The Wijnen site was re-landscaped 4 years ago. There are approximately 30 species of palms, overlooking the golf course.

12:30PM - The potluck luncheon. The Palm Society will provide the main entree meat dish, and a green salad; visitors please bring a favorite side dish to serve 8-10 people.

1:15 PM - Meeting and auction. Please consider bringing plants for the 50/50 auction, the proceeds which are equally shared between the Palm Society and the donor. For more information, please contact John D. Rees, Ventura-Santa Barbara Area Chair: 805-482-2792 (home); 805-559-5995 (cell).

We hope that you can attend this special day!

Dave & I may even reprise our Dumb & Dumber roles for those of you lucky enough to have missed it last meeting

I do some experiments and learning in my garden with palms so you don't have to experience the pain! Look at my old threads to find various observations and tips!
