What is the general opinion? Is this C. macropoda the same as C. utan?????????????

According to the Kew website, Corypha macropoda is indeed a synonom for C. utan.

Leilani Estates, 25 mls/40 km south of Hilo, Big Island of Hawai'i. Elevation 880 ft/270 m. Average rainfall 140 inches/3550 mm

Thanks Bo. That's what my Google search came up with.

Would this then mean that it is not as "endangered" as macropoda is listed at?

I wonder if these two Coryphas are the same palm.

This is a photo of the completed inflorescence on my C. utan. It sure does not resemble the photo of the C. macropoda inflorescence in the other thread. That inflorescence resembles the C. umbraculifera flower structure more closely. See what you think.

Visual of a germinated C.M Seed,it took around 3 months to get one seed germinated out of 4 fresh seeds..without any special bottom heat or special treatment ! method used is baggie or ziploc bag type of palm seed germination..

The germinated C.M seed is placed in a 2 liter plastic mineral water bottle,with cocopeate & perilite used as its growing soil medium..though its just a temparary stage,later they will be shifted to huge plastic barrel once they speed-up grouth !
