Went out of the city over the wekend to buy plants for the house and I spotted this Golden form of the Christmas palm in seed. First time for me to see something like this.

Just wanted to share

Good eye Gene, one my favorite easy to grow oddities. I have a sneaking suspicion that you will be returning to that tree in a couple more weeks to liberate some seeds! B)

Gene,

Those seeds are still pretty small. I wonder how long it will take them to grow to mature size and ripen.

Bill - You read my mind. But its out of the city and I don't go there very often so I hope that I get lucky the next time I visit and the seeds are just lying in the ground ready for picking.

George - oddly enough this was the first time I've seen one in seed. I have no idea how long it takes. I have some goldens in the house but they are still pretty young.

Ari - I will if I get the chance

Here is a picture of one of mine with ripe seeds.

I have not counted. But it doesn't take so long - may be two, three months from the white to the red stage
