I posted some months ago some pics of a Sabal in my garden which was difficult to ID.

Now it is in flowers. Maybe this could help to clarify its whole identity

How old is the plant, and how fast is it? Can you give me a closeup of the base of the inflorescense?

Sorry, can't say exactly how old the palm is - maybe 7-8 years. I have the impression that it's growing rather quickly compared to others. Closup is coming soon. I am a bit busy for the moment.

How many Sabal flower in tight w/ the fronds? These are very few, bermudana and pumos are only ones I know of. The palm looks a bit stretched out for bermudana but maybe it's shaded some???

Sorry, I havn't understood your first question.

He is saying that the flower stalks are between petioles(palm stems). This is not common in sabals. My bermudana has this arrangement, as does apparently sabal pumos. Other sabals like mexicana, palmetto, domingenesis, causiarum, etc do not exhibit this arrangement of the petioles and flower stalks.

Formerly in Gilbert AZ, zone 9a/9b. Now in Palmetto, Florida Zone 9b/10a??
