This is a current picture of this very slow growing palm. I posted a picture of this same palm a while back and thought I would update the picture and also see how anyone else may be doing with these. It's starting to remind me of a Beccariophoenix.

Jerry, That Voanioala looks awesome! Your right, it does look very much like a Beccariophoenix. Do you know how long it has been in the ground?

I'm not sure when this palm was planted; it's the largest one that I have ever seen. I will ask Terry Sullivan the next time I see him.

EVERY palm seems to grow perfectly in Hawaii. Thanks for the photo! I wonder how long it'll be before it gets a trunk?!

Thanks for the pic Jerry. POM only has that upshot into the crown so you can't really get a sense of what the palm will look like. We're starting to get an idea now. Sorta Beccariophoenix like sans fibers. Thanks.

thanks for update , a very slow growing palm species, still no trunks (7 years after first photos.) i think this palm is nearly 12 years old from seeds

It's probably quite a bit older. Voanioala is a snail.
