I got this a number of years ago I thin it is C obtusa-- its been through hell and a handbasket. 21 F low and the fortnght of freezes in 99.

Its been warm a few years in a row and it is starting to prosper

Scale is deceptive in photos leaves very bog 12 feet or so trunk is about 6 feet measured from ground to base of emergening spear. This plant has been setting for a dozen years or so but is finally moving now that we have several good seasons in a row.

Does that thing have an Acoeleraphe growing through the crown?

7 miles inland. Elevation 120ft (37m)

Yes it is.... the paurotis has spread into a large clump with tall canes next to it. It has prospered more than the possible

C. obtusa over the years.
