So the wife says I have TOO many palms in the backyard and wants me to place some palms in the front yard now. She wants me to upgrade the mailbox and the area around it, and I wanted to add some palms with the upgrade. Please give me some ideas of palms that you think would look good here. This area gets LOTS of shade (photo taken at 11:00am today) and you can see my USDA Zone and other related growing facts in my signature.

If you have palms around your mailbox please post up some pictures so I can get some ideas!!

Here's my little Bottle palm behind my mail box. I didn't do the air brushing; I bought the mailbox on Kauai.

I do not have a letter box , but just over the road from the nursery I worked at , is a nice planting of a Licuala grandis under a few Alexandras.

Rhapis, maybe? :hmm: ...or Chuniophoenix hainanensis? Not sure how cold-hardy it would need to be.

Here's a picture of our little mailbox planter at our old house. You could substiute Chamaedorea radicalis tree form maybe for your climate.

That looks great Mark, i was actually looking at that on the interent. The DIY network has a step by step on how to build one outta bricks. Thanks for the suggestions.
