cycads :drool::drool:

The Encephalartos eugene-maraisii was awarded best cycad in show. This was a real treat for me bacuase that's one of my favorite Cycad species and this was a mature specimen. We don't get many Encephalartoses in these parts.

Mattyb's christmas gift will eventually look like this --probably even better and more silvery.

I think our humid conitions here mess up the color of the leaves.

A small display on endemic Philippine species. I didn't realize that we also had Raffelisas growing in our rain forsts. That one isn't real though but at first I thought it was.

If you have a lot of them together they really put on quite a show. :drool: Too bad their flowers only last for a day. :(

I have tried a coupld of thee but they are very susceptibel to scale inset attacks :rage:

Some have flowers that are bigger than saucers. Here's one with my hand for scale

Some of these were already hybridized in the Philippines but I think quite a few come from Hawaii and Australia.
