I purchase a trunking Chamaedorea Radicalis around summer 2006. It have been a very happy and good grower. This week it gave me a surprise and I hope it keeps doing it. Variegation! You can see the older leaves below. Is this common?

I've grown up hundreds of C. radicalis and I've never seen a variegated one. I hope the variegation is on more than just one frond.

I have a beautiful variegated specimen, it was purchased in a lot of standard radicalis...it was green when I planted it and quickly developed the variegation. Even the seeds are variegated! At least so far it seems to be a crawling, not trunking, specimen.
