Jardim botanico, Lisboa

A few years ago I spent my holiday in Lisbon/Portugal. In the neighbourhood of the University the “jardim botanico” is located (http://www.jb.ul.pt/). The gate-money was 1,50 Euro. The university itself cultivates and maintain the garden. Near the entrance you have the possibility to buy seedlings and little plants. Seeds are free you only have to pick them up round the plants/palms :winkie::D .

I love that place, even if it somehow messy.

The old stonework on that path is incredible, just one of the best in the world.

I remember a large tree of Ficus habrophylla, from New Caledonia... is it still there?

Sandra, thank you for the tour! I can't say enough good things about Portugal -- the people are friendly, the food is good, the countryside is soothing, the beaches are refreshing, the architecture, both historical and modern, is fantastic. I did not visit the botanic garden on my short trip, and it looks like I missed out, so thank you for the photos. We hope to return and spend more time there.
