Nice work, Steve. The planters look so neat...

One thing...I'm growing several Hyophorbe indica here too but I guess they are not so impressive palms for such an important spot in your front yard. In fact, mine here look almost "invisible" when placed together with other palms...

Where are your lovely and "showy" native Pritchardias?

Thanks Gileno, Pritchardias are way in the back. W/it's "shorter" fronds I'm hoping the H. indica will not hit power line coming in from the road. I though ti was good looking w/the very dark crownshaft.

Looking good, Steve. I need a truck full of soil right now for my seedlings. Have to look into it this week.

PS - In case you missed an earlier topic of mine, here's one of those P. martii seeds you sent me. :winkie:

Its looking great Steve!!! :)

The Hyophorbe indica looks very beautyfull and is a good choice in my opinion as its indeed spectacular! You could have gone with a little more plant variety to spice things even as it is it will look great and probably more natural than if you had planted more different species :)

Still have 1/2 the yard to go and I'll add a few more "short" palms and to keep the wife happy will probably stick w/some herbs to plant around them. Time will see, right now I'm done in the f ront and will be working in other areas. I have 1/2 dozen 1 gallon palms from Floribunda that have to go in the groundand they are all to big for the front due to power line.

Looks like a great job, Steve. Should keep the wife beatings to a minimum for a while, I hope. I get the beatings for planting too much.

Getting there, Steve... You must have power lines pretty close to the house?? Well, at least you have the backyard for planting big palms.

Regards, Ari :)

Ari,

Not really "power lines" but the one that feeds my house from the main line on the street. This area is to old to have underground electrical/telephone, or cable connections.
