Time: 1:00 PM till 5:00 PM

Location: Home of Paul & Melanie Godowski in Hillsborough

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please join us for a late fall Palm Society meeting on Sunday, October 4th from 1:00 to 5:00 PM. There will be a potluck lunch and an auction of rare palms. Our host is Paul Godowski of Hillsborough. Paul has created a spectacular garden in just six years. His location is a true Sunset zone 16. The site enjoys ample summer sun and warmth, but also has frost protection and air drainage in winter. The garden normally never suffers temperatures below 34 F. Many of Paul's rare plants were sourced by Bob Fowler. You will not believe the growth achieved in just six years. The garden also features a koi pond with many large, beautiful, and friendly fish!

Directions to the garden at 25 Orange Court, Hillsborough, CA. 94010. From Interstate 280 in Hillsborough, take the Black Mountain/Hayne Road exit #36. Turn east onto Golf Course road, proceed one-half city block to the first stop sign, turn left onto Skyline Blvd, turn right onto Chateau Drive, proceed downhill through 3 stop signs to the SECOND intersection with Jacaranda Circle, turn left into Jacaranda, proceed one-half city block, turn right into Orange Court. Paul's telephone is 650-465-9553.

We will have an election this winter for new officers and board members. Please remember the great gardens and palm resources the Palm Society has made available to you. We urge you to volunteer to be an officer or board member. Darold will no longer serve as President, and will concentrate on our Lakeside Palmetum. Advanced palm knowledge is absolutely NOT necessary! We need people with energy and enthusiasm. Please contact our nominating committee to volunteer for a position or to nominate someone else. Don't be shy! The nominating committee is
