Dear Friends :)

Today let's see the repotting work of Chamaerops Humilis var.Arborescens (Single trunk Form). The Seeds were sent to me by brother M@x.They have all germinated well for me.But i have realised that they are a bit slow growers compared to the regular ' Mediterranean Fan Palm.'

At the moment the climate is much better than what we experienced last month,So we felt we repot this baby, and see wheather their is any marked improvement in its grouth rate.

And from the following post you will have vivid illustration as to how we went about doing this repotting work ? :hmm: Hope you all enjoy seeing it & give your valuable suggestions...So that we can improve in our next thread !

Thanks & Love,

Kris :)

Kris: Max hooked me up with both Robusta and Naples last winter. Mine are a bit further along than yours. My Robustas have 3 cm wide straps and my Naples have 2 cm wide straps. I potted mine up around May of last year. They'll probably go palmate this summer. So they're not that slow. What kind of sun did you give them? They look a bit stretched. I had mine out in pure blazing Texas sun the whole summer. No shade.

Dear Buffy :)

This palm was exposed to full sunlight from the day it was planted in that big sized pot,But we were expereinecing our wet winters up to Jan 2010 first week.So that may be the reason and i have not fertilized this palm yet.I will do so it,since mine are all pure chenical based,So we gave this palm time to stabilise first, then i will feed it with coconut palm fertilizer..Lets see wheather it wake's up to it.

Thanks & Love,

kris :)

I fertilized a lot last summer during the growing season. Maybe we can assume it's safe to fertilize these from a young age. I'll try to take pictures this weekend for you, to compare.
