I was out checking the palms in the yard the other day and noticed that seedlings were coming up under both my Trithrinax acanthocoma and my Butia paraguayensis. They have both been dropping seeds for years and finally some have germinated. I don't know what did it except that the sprinkling system was broken on that side of the yard and then we started having a lot of rain. Could it be the wet/dry treatment? I also mulched over the seeds with pinestraw in the spring. I'm excited.

Here are the fruit on the b. paraguayensis. Notice how close it is to the ground.

The Butia paraguayensis in its glory. It looks like a B. capitata except everything is in miniature.

Here is an old (and very bad) picture of the Trithrinax. It is about 2' taller now.
