I gathered seeds of a Gaussia maya of the Viera and Clavijo Botanic Garden, and I set them to germinate. In one week and little they started germinating, and three weeks after 90 % of success. For the well-read thing and the place where this specimen is planted, it looks like an easy species, with high capacity of adjustment to soils and climates. It´s a 4x4 palm

Is it like that?

I am anxious to know your experiences:)

I put a few photos of the germination:

Note. I was wrong of subforum, for this reason I have copied twice this post and have translated.

Miguel, my only experience is with 10 small seedlings I'm growing at the moment. I found them slow by the first leaf, but by the third leaf they seem to speed up quite a lot. I think they are an unusual-looking palm, some say ugly, but perhaps fair to say more attractive in a group setting?

Hi, john. Thanks for yours notes.

I think that in shade its leaves are more large and has more leaves too. I hope that anybody are cultivated and give more information.

I don´t think that the gaussia are more ugly than other palms. Are very especials with its inflorescens and its three or four leaves. But..., are not my favourites
