Good job Maghi,

Now the job is to keep them alive. You probably already know this but they like a deep pot and very well draining soil like most cycads. They do better in almost pure pumice with a small amount of sand and organic material mixed in if you plan on container growing them. I've had a number of these rot easily when planted in too heavy a mix. I've also planted many of these straight into the ground and they have done great. Not one loss in the ground and they have been fairly robust growers.

This particular cycad does loathe being grown in containers for some reason. Planting them out sooner rather than later is best.

Jody is right, they must dislike containers. Strange enough mines don't make

large taproots although there is plenty of room in the container. It looks as

if they have problems making secundary roots or it takes years to develop a good

root system. In any case a difficult cycad, be prepared that the leaf can stop

growing for no apparent reason.

I think it is a variation of C. siamiensis but Im not positive.
