Looking for Cyphokentia. I'd like to purchase in Southern California, if possible, or via mail order. Any leads or suggestions appreciated.

Ummm. Good luck there. I've been looking too. :huh:

Zone 10a at best after 2007 AND 2013, on SW facing hill, 1 1/2 miles from coast in Oceanside, CA. 30-98 degrees, and 45-80deg. about 95% of the time.

Which one? Cerifera or Macrostachya? Cerifera can be found but save the trouble. It is a nightmare to grow and it is SSLLLLOOOWWWW. I am down to my last one and it ain't looking so hot. Macrostachya I doubt you will find until Jeff Marcus gets some down the road from his tree.

Hi Len,

I thought Cyphokentia macrostachya was sui generis.

If the seeds are reasonably easy to germinate, I'd try that route as well.

Whoops-saw that in Genera Palmarum, that there are you two. You're correct, Len.

Anyway, I'd be after the variable macrostachya.
