I have 2 articles on cycad seed germination and 1 on cleaning the seeds. They are all in my article section. I will put in the address to my main page in my site, but for cultivation information, look in the articles.

Ed, the cardboard palm fruits are toxic. Be careful with them around small children or pets.

Also try to wear rubber gloves when cleaning them. They really stink and it's not easy to get that odor off your hands

Is there a male cardboard palm nearby? Coonties? It might be interesting to see who the male parent might be.

Fla. climate center: 100-119 days>85 F
USDA 1990 hardiness zone 9B
Current USDA hardiness zone 10a
4 km inland from Indian River; 27º N (equivalent to Brisbane)

Central Orlando's urban heat island may be warmer than us

Thanks for all the advice, yes, there are about 8 or 10 of them in two clumps, so I'm sure there's a male in there, Ed
