I got this plant about this time last year and planted it out immediately. I know this plant has a reputation for being drought tolerant but this was that way from the get-go. Anyway, this is the 'Silver Peso' form. It rained all night so the leaves are still wet and the green shows through but normally it is silvery grey because of all the fine white hairs on the leaves. This plant got fairly battered a few weeks ago with all the high winds but it still kept its little buds fine. There are about 10 or so clusters of buds on this 30-inch plant. It is supposed to be slow growing and eventually becomes a 12-18 foot tree.

The little blooms are coming along slowly but surely. I read somewhere that says they smell like grape kool-aid. Well not exactly...very slight somewhat complex fragrance. Pleasant not sweet or heavy and not quite like grape kool-aid either.
