Dear Friends :)

Need your help in finding out what this plam is,since i want to start a Palm maintence thread on this..And this palm was not raised from the seed.But purschased as ready-made from a local nursery which had tagged it as Fan Palm. :D

Cocothrinax leaflets grow the whole way around the radius, at least barbadensis does. I'd rule that out.

The absolute "sure thing" that distinguishes the two genera is whether the petioles split (Thrinax) or do not split (Coccothrinax) where they attach to the trunk.

Thanks very much for the assistance,And i need little time to take new stills of that palm & upload it to our palmtalk server.i.e more close up's regarding the splitting of the fronds section that meets the trunk.

Hi Kris, here's one of my Cocothrinax barbadensis I have growing. Note the leaflets meet in a circle once fully formed.
