Will any harm be done to cutting my S. repens 9' creeping trunks back ?

Every couple of years I pay some sucker to come and thin out my Phoenix reclinata and only leave the four tallest trunks. Unfortunately it thrives on this treatment. ( I hate the huge spiky thing) So I cant see how a S. repens would be different. Its not the main roots or anything essential that you are removing.

Peachy

I came. I saw. I purchased

27.35 south.
