That palm is actually pretty nice.

Trimming a CIDP like that is very labor intensive and, not surprisingly, expensive.  But looks great!

Absolutely but the nursery I bought it from are pros. The driver of the truck even gave a hand in helping me set it. It was only me, the driver, and the crane operator. We dug the hole the day before...me and my helper. It's such a pleasure working with professionals. Almost a rarity in this day and age, unfortunately.

The work they put into getting the palm ready for travel and handling was amazing. I especially realized this when it was time to remove the bindings and brace.

Did you notice the triple trunk Solitaire palm off to the left in back? Another little touch I made to add personality.

Nice!  I agree, it is rare to find professionals who really know what they are doing.  Happily you did!  The Ptychosperma do look nice too!

Thanks! This was back in the spring of '08, btw.

Few more pics. The Solitaire was actually 4 trunk. You should see the solarium I did on this job....just gorgeous!

I should also add that trunk has a slight curve to it - so not Florida Fancy based just on that one disqualifier alone.

 

The curved trunk was the best part of that palm, in my opinion.
