We are presently offering a limited number of good sized Jubaea X Butia, F2 hybrids. I particularly like this hybrid because it gives the grower a thick trunked, fairly rapid growing and cold hardy palm where cold is an issue. Everyone knows how slow Jubaeas are. These are much faster and yet get a trunk that reminds one of a Jubaea (except for the retained leaf bases). I have had reports of these hybrids tolerating as low as 13 degrees from the last batch I had several years ago. Some customers think they might even be more cold hardy than pure Butia capitata.

They are in tree pot size. The bases are about 3 inches and the plant height is approximately 2.5 feet. Plese see photos.

As you can see they are real beefy. They would need acclimation to your sun.

We are a CA certified nursery. Ag paperwork will accompany your mail order. If your state requires a phtyo permit, then we must get one. No bootleg plants. CA residents pay sales tax. S/H charges by Fed Express applies and not included in the sale price.

For those nonbelievers that think this plant doesn't give a thick trunk, below is a picture of the trunk of this hybrid. Pictured is past PSSC President David Minks in the photo. This specimen is in the LA Arboretum.

We can usually shape the same day or, if a phtyo is needed, the following day.

To order, just call me.

Rafael,

Thanks for the feedback.

I apologize, but we do not ship internationally. Out here in CA, almost all growers use some form of pine, redwood or fir shavings in their mixes. Such products are not allowed into Europe, Thus, from the getgo, most CA growers are not candidates to ship to Europe. Also, it's a huge amount of repetitive Ag inspections (at significant expense) and red tape to send legally to Europe. So, we just don't do it. I'd try some of your growers over there.

Ed,

These plants are in tree pots. This is a step down from the citrus pot, but a similar shape. They typically have a square width of four to five inches and are up to fourteen inches long.

Standard Bands are 2 and 7/8 inches and quite a bit smaller than a tree pot. To confuse the issue, there are multiple sizes of "bands". I use the standard, one above which is basically 3x3x9 inches. The smallest band would be called a "liner". It's about half the size of the standard one. And, there's another that's about 4 inches wide and taller. I hope this helps.
