I can relate to this Olivier, since my palms are exclusively potted seedlings. Nice reference for anyone growing the same species from seed. Thanks for taking the time to post all of those photos!

Very nice collection Olivier...I believe we have lots of seedlings in common so it's great for me to see these pictures and compare. You're lucky to have a Colpothrinax though, I've never managed to germinate those...congrats...

Olivier, that is quite a collection. Many of them I have not seen before. Some I have and some I had. Beautiful! :):winkie:

Wow so many babies and I thought I must be the only one with so many. In fact you have a few species that I dont have, so maybe I will have to stroll through your place with a very big handbag !!

Great palms Oliver. Did you grow these from seeds collected locally or imported?

Great setup and great variety. Those baby palms are already beautiful and will get better and better with time.

Everything looks great!

One thing, I don't think the below photo is Pinanga speciosa. That particular Pinanga has leaves quite different from these. I can post a photo if necessary. I do reserve the right to be wrong, though!

Oliver, Thats a fantastic collection!

But I also thought I saw something that didn't look right. The Dypsis pinnatifrons doesn't look like what I'm used to. Although I usually see a little bigger ones, But I would believe they should show character leaves at that age?

That's a decent size P. speciosa! I have a few as seedlings and a few 4" of the purple crownshaft variety, so it's exciting to see what they'll look like in 6 months or so.

Did you get your P. rumphiana from rare palm seeds? I have some about the same size as yours. They are a bit more robust than most Pinangas at that size, I've noticed. P. malaina are very robust also.

By the way, your soil looks very rich, almost like pure humus! I've tried that before and rotted/damped off pretty much everything in it, with the exception of Cyrtostachys, which seems to thrive in it. I suppose having them outside in an ideal climate helps.

Sorry, it's an error. This picture is Pinanga rumphiana !!

hmmmm ...

Quite sure it is a Dypsis pinnatifrons. The new leaves seem to be more characteristics ...

We will see when it will be bigger ...

I somehow missed these photos the first time around. They came up when I searched Phoenicophorium. Thanks to all who perfected the "Search" feature. Here's my tiny Phoenicophorium which I bought as a two leaf tree. Glad I enjoy watching trees grow up! Thanks for all the photos as many look familiar...
