Here's part 2 of my garden update on my blog.

THe blogging software couldn't handle so many photos so I had to split the update into 2 parts.

Here's the link:

Good to see you planted your Amherstia already. They are happier in the ground, especially that size!! Is it marcotted or from seeds?? Mine is nowhere near that big and I have to plant it first...

BTW, maybe you should put temporary shade over those A. ipot. You don't want to burn all the leaves...

I think the Amherstia was marcotted. Is there a difference between marcots and seed grown?

I have been trying out marcotting some of my rarer trees lately and some of them take a whole year to get established.

The rainy season is starting and the Ipots should do ok. I want to give them full exposure because these will be their permanent spots. They should have more cover by next summer. fingers crossed.

Marcotted trees will flower early... seeds grown will take years to flower. Yeah... marcotting can be tricky... I am still learning myself.

The next tree you have to get is Browneopsis... Worth growing!!

BTW.... what I do with shade loving palms, I put temporary shadecloth on them until the canopy meets... It is not pretty, but it will give them protection until the others grow to provide shade. Better than loosing them, IMO.
