Very nice Ken -- how long do they take to get to that size? (and is the D. cabadae considered to be fast or above-average in growth rate?)

My D. cabadae is pretty slow...but, it's in some shade. It seems to be growing at half the rate of lutescens and lanceolata (also in some shade). Pembana seems to grow fast (again shade)...and, has somewhat of a similar look.

Mine is quite fast - three fronds in four months and the red colouration is still strong even at 4 feet

Looks like cabadae to me. Sometimes they remain single for years then start to clump.

BTW we were born 7 days apart! :D

Obviously a good time to be born as my mother, father and eldest daughter were also born May 10, 13, and 11. Thanks for the ID so I can make an aluminum label and continue the enjoyable task of learning my palms while planting lots more.... Palmtalk has been a great help and alot of fun!
