Who likes to witness the first sunrays on the palms in this board?

Even when I`m away from the garden, when in the apartment downtown, I always enjoy taking a look at the palms very early in the morning. Please add your own morning photos here in this thread...

Hi Frank,

This is something I`ll never get used to, when I travel to North USA or Europe...Here the sunrise is always between 4:30 and 5:30 AM, no matter the season (and sunset between 5:30 and 6:30 too). Having dinner with the sun still shining, like you guys do in summer, doesn`t help with my biological appetite...

Hhhmmm... that lipstick palm makes me want to buy more... :) :). I agree with you Gileno... those long summer days always stuffed up my biological clock too. Thank goodness, the NT government never consider daylight saving like the rest of Australia. I don't think I can send the kids to bed when it is still light outside....

The rest of Australia ? hang on a sec and read on.

In Australia, "Daylight Saving Time" is observed in New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania, and the Australian Capital Territory. It is not observed in Queensland, the Northern Territory or Western Australia, which actually makes up for the bulk of the country land wise at least. :)

Actually Ari, daylight saving doesn't work in WA. The main population centres are too far west to begin with, so we kind of have daylight saving of a mild kind all year round anyway. Add another hour and it gets ridiculous considering that we get hotter peak temps in summer than even Darwin down here in Perth. Once you go north past Exmouth the population centres do go east, but by then you're so far into the tropics and not too far from the Northern Territory it makes no sense, and it's even hotter again in summer.

Why do we want it anyway? We're not getting bombed by the Germans. WA and daylight saving. Nuh. :D

Best regards
