I'll let the tree do the talking....I picked it up from a big box clearance rack for $7.50 in 7 gallon size about two years ago. It had suffered some heavy cold damage and has been brought indoors and protected ever since. You'd almost think Satakentia liukiuensis based on this coloring :blink:

Beautiful color! Strange to me to see the petioles so green -- on mine they always go orange very quickly. Is that a California/Florida difference?

Despite growing more & more "cutting edge" palms since I began this madness, this Hyophorbe remains one of my top 10 favorites. If I had the space, I'd have a dozen of them. Drop dead coloration, perfect leaves, sturdy growers. What else can you ask for?
