Seen here on my Cyphophoenix elegans. Anyone care to enlighten me or even put forward suggestions?

Hi Richard,

How's the weather back home cos....I'll be home in 9 days time

and I'm looking forward to the cooler weather.

Now just basically ramenta are the fluffy scales, now thats lay mans terms

real basic,there's a great spot on the web WWW.thefreedictionary.com it's

great for those wanting to learn the more tech/terms..

I hope the weather holds for you Mikey, it has been mostly excellent for about two months already though many are now worried about drought!

I guess those ramenta must serve some purpose but it is curious how some species in the same genus have them and some don't. I wonder if it somehow deters insect pests which might be present only in certain habitats.

Richard, ramenta basiclly are hairs that protect new growth or foilage....normally on ferns.

hope that makes sence, Keep that weather good
