Archontophoenix love a good dip. These guys in the following pics (and video) are species cunninghamiana or "Bangalows" or "Piccabeens" or "Kings" but I and the rest of the ratpack like to call them "Bangas".

As you may know, it's been raining heavily for a long time here along the east coast and central areas of Queensland, in fact the whole bloody state is inundated. Down the back of my place runs a shallow creek and in times of rain a plenty, she gets a good flow on. There are native bangas growing all around the creek so it is quite obvious then that these palms love a good drink or in the present case, a good swim.

Note that the palms in the photos are in fact growing on the embankment, on normally high/dry ground. It does overflow a lot so I suppose they are getting used to the idea.

Check it out.

My poor king fern has been smashed by debris, still holding on to a recent frond.

WHOA!

Wal, paradise beckons . . . .

We just can't handle rain here, even if we harp and carp about not getting enough. We don't know what to do when we do get it.

More pictures, maybe some animals, places all decked out for Christmas.

And, the family of course!

My son caught an eel right from where I was photographing. That's snake country, see them a lot, so we don't hang around too long.
