I recently went to the Banawe Rice Terraces up in the Mountain Provinces here in the Philippines and I was surprised to see a lot of Areca Catechu growing all over the place.

I have already made a few posts of the trip on my blog. Though the posts aren't mainly about palms I think this group would appreciate these.

There is even a litte lesson about enjoying betel nut seeds
