These are great habitat pictures from Cuba. Do you know what are the tall, palmate palms in the distance in the first photo?

Not exactly. They are a Cocothrinax of some sort. Droopy fans, silver undersides. I'll post a photo of them later on.

Thats that savana just south of the Sierra de Cubitas, north of Camaguey. Its all serpentine there. And plenty C. cowellii, C. hospita and several Coccothrinax.
