Ed, those maters look great! Like the artist just painted up an impressionistic tomato... Are you keepin' them in a shadier aspect? Using miracle grow?

My tomatoes just burn up down here in full sun.

I just threw down some seeds of 'Mr. Stripey'. Maybe they'll be similar.

Like Bill, I would love to find some tomatoes that will grow here in South Florida in the summer. I can manage the bugs but it is everything else that is a problem. There must be some heirloom variety that will grow here in the summer. Any ideas?

Kitty, the only toma-toe that I've ever found in my research is the 'Everglades' tomato... Dime sized cherries that are native and can handle our conditions, even this nasty drought we've been havin'... Fruit and Spice has em dotted around the park or you can find seed on ebay... Wonder if we could keep culling them and eventually get larger sized genetics?

I planted the Everglades Wild Tomato this spring and have been eating them for over a month. We are experiencing record heat and drought. I'll let you know how they do, but I can say that with our record 100 degree days production has shut down, for now.
