After this one had died back after flowering, I cut if off just above ground level...There were no noticible pups at that time. There are some twenty odd pups with more developing.

Any ideas as to where to go grom here?

Very simply, slit em up , and either pot them up or plant them where you want them to grow

Peter thanks....would it pay to let them get bigger?...I haven't had much luck with imperialis at that size..

up to you Mal, why not try a few to start, if good keep going, if not stop and wait till spring. Your a winner either way. Pete

With Alcantarea grass pups I've found that by leaving only one or two attached to the stump enhances the chance of it developing fully. More than that really slows the progress of the rest. Grass pups are notoriously slower than "normal" basal offsets
